Bathroom Remodeling · Framingham, MA

Your local bathroom remodeling contractor in Framingham

Waterfront Construction provides professional bathroom remodeling for homeowners throughout Framingham and nearby towns. From our base in Northborough we keep response times short and standards high — fully licensed and insured, owner-supervised on every job, and committed to leaving your Framingham home better than we found it.

Framingham is in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, established in 1700 and home to roughly 72,500 people. It was settled well before the Republic, which usually means a core of Federal and Greek Revival homes surrounded by later infill — plenty of hand-framed structure, and rooflines never meant to carry today's insulation. We know the town well — from Saxonville, Nobscot and Framingham Centre to the quieter streets — and our bathroom remodeling crews reach Framingham quickly from nearby Northborough. It is about 15 miles from our Northborough shop — about 20 to 30 minutes in normal traffic.

Every Framingham project starts with listening. We walk the space with you, understand how you actually live in your home, and give you straight answers about what's possible, what it will cost and how long it will take — before any work begins.

Call and you get a person, usually the owner. Message us and you get an answer within one business day. On a bathroom remodeling project in Framingham that responsiveness isn't a courtesy — it's what keeps the job moving.

Bathroom Remodeling in Framingham — FAQs

📞 Call (508) 691-8113
Do you provide bathroom remodeling in Framingham, MA?+

Yes — Framingham is right in our service area. We're a Northborough-based, licensed and insured contractor (MA HIC #196540) and regularly serve Framingham homeowners across the MetroWest region with professional bathroom remodeling. Call (508) 691-8113 for a free estimate.

Which parts of Framingham do you cover?+

All of Framingham — including Saxonville, Nobscot, Framingham Centre and downtown Framingham. No matter the neighborhood or the age of your home, we bring the same licensed, insured bathroom remodeling craftsmanship to every Framingham job.

How far is Waterfront Construction from Framingham, MA?+

Our shop is at 44 Bearfoot Road, Northborough, MA 01532, about 15 miles from Framingham — about 20 to 30 minutes in normal traffic. That is close enough for us to get out for an estimate quickly, come back for a snag without making a production of it, and keep crews on your job rather than stuck on the road.

Have you worked near Framingham?+

Yes. One of our documented projects nearby is the Commercial Interior Painting — Marlborough, MA — A dated, dark-paneled office transformed with bright interior painting — from wood paneling to a clean, modern white workspace in downtown Marlborough. You can see the full photo album on our site, along with other the MetroWest region jobs. We're happy to give references closer to Framingham on request.

Which nearby communities do you also cover?+

We work throughout the MetroWest region from our Northborough base — including Hopkinton, Holliston, Littleton, Stow and Bellingham. In total we cover 150+ towns across MetroWest, Greater Boston, the North Shore and Southern New Hampshire.

Do I need a permit for bathroom remodeling in Framingham, MA?+

Partly. Cabinets, counters and tile are exempt finish work, but the plumbing, electrical and gas behind them each need their own permit, and moving a wall needs a building permit. We pull whichever your job requires. We file it with Framingham's building and inspectional services department as a Registered Home Improvement Contractor (MA HIC #196540).

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Massachusetts?+

A powder-room refresh and a full bathroom with a tiled shower are very different projects. The biggest single cost driver is whether any fixture moves, because relocating a waste line means opening the floor. We estimate after measuring, itemised.

Is a tub-to-shower conversion just swapping fixtures?+

No — the drain moves and the waterproofing changes, so it is plumbing work rather than a fixture swap. It is well worth doing when the tub never gets used, but it should be priced as construction.

Permits in Framingham

The finishes are exempt; what is behind them usually is not.

780 CMR exempts cabinets, counter tops, tiling and similar finish work from a building permit. But a kitchen or bathroom remodel almost always triggers separate electrical, plumbing and gas permits, and moving or removing any wall needs a building permit of its own. We pull whichever apply.

For bathroom remodeling work in the City of Framingham, the filing goes to Framingham's building and inspectional services department. As a Massachusetts Registered Home Improvement Contractor (HIC #196540) we pull the permit in our name, book the inspections and meet the inspector on site — you never have to take a day off for it. Requirements do change, so we confirm the current position with Framingham's office before any work starts.

Source: 780 CMR ch. 51 (Massachusetts Residential Code), Part 2 §105 R105.2, “Work exempt from permit”. This is general information, not a substitute for your building department's own determination.
